I’ve had a handful of great experiences at The Oyster Bar! I originally was intrigued to check out The Oyster Bar because I’m pescatarian and saw that they have a whole array of pescatarian friendly options on the menu. Alex, the oyster shucker, was welcoming upon arrival and lovely to talk to. When I asked about the restaurant’s history, he was more than happy to share fun facts about the restaurant and their history. Very interesting! You should look around the restaurant when you’re there. I loved the dining room with all the plates. Over the past 6 months, I’ve gone back and enjoyed all sorts of dishes like the baked parmesan oysters, freshly shucked oysters, shrimp po boys, smoked salmon chowder and classic clam chowder as well as drinks like their mulled cider during wintertime and an aperol spritz. Honorable mention for the Boozer Shooter that Alex created. The shot consists of watermelon and serrano pepper infused tequila, a house made pineapple habanero sauce with a tajin rim and a lime Very nice flavor combination! I haven’t had anything I didn’t like and I definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner! The service, ambiance, and food is always great.

We went on Sunday February 16th around 2:30pm. Exceptional. 10 out of 10. Bathrooms were hella clean. Oysters were bomb. Atmosphere was stellar. Loved it. Amazing.

Best fresh oysters in the area by far! It tastes even better during their happy hour from 4-6. If you don’t want oysters, get the fish tacos too! Pairing our food with a wine or beer made our evening in Portland so fun. They have a lot of seating as well!

Last day in town after a long weekend to see a distant family member graduate from PSU. Wanted Oysters on the half shell all weekend and this place hit the spot before we headed to the airport. Holly our server is a classic server, super nice, on top of details, caring for her customers showed us a GREAT time. Oysters were AWESOME, food amazing.....wish we had gone here sooner rather then the end of the trip.

I grew up going here in the 1970s and 80s and the atmosphere is full of nostalgia. I love the food and it is basically the same as back in the day, even though the menu has changed some. My favorite is still the clam chowder. It's rich, creamy, and full of clams! It's best if you top it with oyster crackers and a pat of butter (like they used to serve it). The sampler of oysters is also amazing. Super fresh (just shucked) and reasonably priced. And, you can't go wrong with the fried seafood (clams, cod, oysters, prawns). Bummed that fried scallops are no longer on the menu, but that's not a deal breaker. The atmosphere is old school, classic Portland, OR. Definitely worth a visit!

I love it here! Definitely a must eat in portland. The atmosphere is amazing and so is the food!

The staff were very friendly and provided great service to our party. The clam chowder and fried smoked salmon were delicious and freshly prepared. The restaurant itself is comfortable and quite remarkable, with 5 generations of the family's treasures on the walls. We loved it!

Really amazing oyster bar! I can't believe it's been owned by the same family for many years! The server who served us tonight was also part of the family! we got seated in an area of where the supposedly there could be live music! They said they can also get pretty busy but when we went it was pretty empty at the time! We really like the fresh shucked oysters from the bar area but also that vodka shot they had that had a oyster meat!
